A fire broke out at the library in the school in Feydhoo, Addu this morning. 

The fire started in an air-conditioning unit in the library. MNDF said they received reports of the incident at 8:20am and dispatched fire fighters immediately. By 9am, the fire had been put out, they confirmed. 

No injuries were reported in the incident. However, photos shared by MNDF shows severe damage to the library, with several books burned beyond use. 

The bookshelves, door and AC also sustained heavy damaged in the blaze. 

The fire broke out after classes had started for the morning session. When the incident occurred, the school interrupted classes and evacuated students.
