Former Ministers Adam Shareef Umar and Thoriq Ibrahim, along with former Attorney General Dhiyana Saeed, have been appointed to the position of Ambassador at Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Shareef, the former Minister of Cities, Local Government, and Public Works, and Thoriq, the former Minister of Tourism, resigned on the 14th of this month during a wave of resignations involving 10 ministers.

The President’s Office has confirmed that Adam Shareef and Thoriq, along with Dhiyana, have now been appointed as Ambassadors at Large within the Foreign Ministry.

Following the government's setback in the Local Council Elections held on the 4th of this month, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu stated that he would bring necessary changes to the government's administration.

The government has noted that some ministers resigned after that election to provide the opportunity for the positive changes President Muizzu wishes to implement in order to align the government’s administration with the pulse of the people.
