Two individuals have been arrested in connection to two major thefts at Sh. Milandhoo.

Police stated today that the suspects arrested in connection to both cases are Ahmed Azeem, 34, Red Rose, Milandhoo and Mohamed Shifau, 29, Tharividhaage.

The thefts were initially reported on Saturday, 18th April 2026.

Police said that Saturday's report was in regards to the theft of engine parts worth more than MVR 100,000 from a garage at a house in Milandhoo.

Police also said that the theft occurred in the afternoon and the items that were stolen are a Yamaha outboard gear and the propeller that connects to it. While referring to the owner, the police said that the items are worth more than MVR 120,000.

Police went on to say that they had received information that the stolen items were sold to a boat captain who was moored at Milandhoo harbor for MVR 2,500 at around 2:30pm on the day of the theft. When the boat was searched, the stolen items were found in the boat's engine compartment.

The same two suspects committed another robbery the very next day on Sunday, with the police saying they received a report that a television and perfumes were stolen from a house.

The stolen items include a 60-inch Skyworth television, a 65-inch TCL television, a Gucci Flora perfume worth USD 240 and other perfumes worth MVR 6,000.

All of the stolen items have been recovered and returned to their rightful owners. The two suspects were arrested on Tuesday, 21st April 2026 and have been remanded in custody for 10 days.
