Secretary General of the National Pay Commission Dr Mohamed Faizal has resigned yesterday. 

However, no reason for the decision was provided in the resignation letter, according to a source. 

Faizal's resignation comes at the time when the Pay Commission is facing heavy criticism following recent changes brought to the pay structure of State employees. 

The National Pay Commission stated yesterday that work is underway to resolve the challenges and issues identified within institutions that have migrated to the new pay framework, as part of the government's efforts to harmonize state salaries.
