Chief Judicial Administrator Amjad Musthafa resigned today.

However, in the resignation letter sent to the President of the JSC, Husnee Mubarik, Amjad did not state the reason for his departure.

Amjad, the former Vice President of the Elections Commission, was appointed to the post of Chief Judicial Administrator in February of last year.

Amjad was appointed as the head of the administrative wing of the judiciary after qualifying and receiving the highest marks among the candidates who applied for the position.

Prior to Amjad, the post of Chief Judicial Administrator was held by Aishath Rizna. She resigned in September 2024, stating that there was no environment in which she could work with the JSC within the legal framework, policies, and procedures of the DJA's administration.

Amjad, who completed a five-year term at the EC, has also served as a board director at MTDC. Following that, he was appointed as the President of the Employment Tribunal in 2020. However, he resigned from that position after four months.
