Former State Minister of the now dissolved Ministry of Cities, Local Government and Public Works Moosa Fathuhy has been appointed Secretary General (SG) at ruling People's National Congress. 

The party announced Fathuhy's appointment today. 

Fathuhy is also amongst the President's appointees to the Privatization and Corporatization Board. 

Fathuhy also contested in the 2022 parliamentary elections for the Komandoo constituency seat. 

The position of SG at PNC became vacant following the resignation of Muaz Haleem on Saturday. Muaz stated that he resigned to support President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's efforts to reshape the party's governance in line with public sentiment and to help it achieve better results.

Besides the ruling party, the administration has also seen major changes following PNC's significant loss of support in the April 4 elections. The cabinet was reconstituted after 10 ministers abruptly resigned, and several heads of State owned enterprises have also either resigned or been dismissed.
