President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has made his arrival to the island of AA. Rasdhoo to celebrate PNC's victory in the island council from the Local Council Election.
Along with President Muizzu, First Lady Sajidha Mohamed and Cabinet ministers will be attending the ceremony that will be held at the island later tonight.
PNC came to win seats in the Local Council Election that was held on 4th April, in some islands that previously had major support for MDP. Rasdhoo and AA. Ukulhas are such islands.
MDP has always had a majority vote in both of the island councils ever since the election of councilors were introduced. This time however, PNC candidates have been elected for all of the council seats. PNC believes this to be a tremendous victory.
Even though PNC have won across various islands, they have seen defeat across all of the cities. MDP has claimed a super majority in terms of mayors and city councils.
