A man in HDh. Kulhudhuffushi has sustained critical injuries in a fall from a coconut palm, and is currently on ventilator support. 

A 36 year old man from HDh. Neykurandhoo had climbed the palm intending to trim it and remove fronds. He fell from the palm reported to be about 60 feet tall, suffering life-threatening injuries. 

Kulhudhuffushi Hospital's Customer Service and Public Relations Director Mohamed Hussain revealed that the man had been brought to the hospital at 3:15pm today. 

The man had no pulse when brought to the hospital, and CPR had been immediately administered, Hussain said. He was subsequently placed on a ventilator, and his condition is still critical. 

Although the Kulhudhuffushi Hospital had discussed the case with Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital, the injured man's condition is not stable enough for transfer to the capital at this time, Hussain said.
