The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure tonight extended the deadline once again for applications for land plots and flats being issued under various categories in this government's first housing project.
The opportunity to apply for flats was initially given until the 17th of April. The opportunity to apply for land plots was given until the 4th of last March.
However, that deadline was later extended until the end of this month.
In an announcement made today, the Housing Ministry stated that the deadline to apply for flats and land in six categories has been extended until 11:59 PM on the 31st of next May.
Schemes and categories with extended deadlines:
- The special category for those who have documents confirming they would receive a flat from the Veshifahi Male' or Hiya projects but have not had the flats handed over.
- The special category for persons with disabilities to apply for flats.
- Land plots being issued for residential living for residents living in Male'.
- Category 1 of the "Binveriya" Special Scheme, for those who received land plots under a joint application in the Binveriya scheme to apply for land separately.
- Category 2 of the "Binveriya" Special Scheme, for those who did not qualify for the Binveriya scheme due to owning a flat, to apply for land by giving up the flat.
- Government land plots being issued for residential living for residents living in Male' under the "Goathigedhoru" program.
Under the "Family Housing" program opened last January 18, the government has decided to issue 7,900 flats and a total of 15,000 land plots of 1,250 square feet.
The government has designated 4,000 flats for Male' residents, 1,500 flats for those living in Male' who are not registered residents, and 2,400 flats for special categories.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that they have decided to issue 25,000 land plots from Rasmalé, which is currently being reclaimed to find a solution for housing. However, 15,000 land plots will be issued from there in the first round.
