The Member of Parliament for the Baarashu constituency, Ibrahim Shujau, stated today that the message citizens sent during the local council elections was that "changes must be brought to certain things," and that the PNC possesses the courage to bring those changes.

During the debate in today's parliamentary session regarding a bill proposed by North Galolhu Member Mohamed Ibrahim to amend the Land Act, Shujau said that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has accepted the people's decision in the local council elections with goodwill. He also noted that the President has announced he will bring the necessary changes to his policies accordingly.

"Through this local council election, the people told us [PNC] that changes must be brought to certain matters; this party has the courage to bring those changes with steadfastness," Shujau said.

At the same time, Shujau criticized the tensions that arose within the opposition MDP, describing the situation as a result of a lack of direction within the MDP.

"We want to assure the citizens that if there is any policy among our policies that requires change, we will bring that change," he stated.

He further noted that they are not being arrogant or boastful regarding the election results.

"Winning seats and achieving success is not something over which one should be arrogant toward the people," Shujau said.

He emphasized that changes to PNC's policies would be made by taking into account the pulse of the people and the decisions they have made.
