Power was restored in Hulhumale' Phase 2 apartment towers around 11:30 pm last night. 

Damage to the main cable led to power cuts across a large part of Hulhumale' Phase 2 from around 3:20pm yesterday. 

STELCO said that they had been working since then to identify the issue and restore electricity services. While working to resolve the issue, additional technical issues were found, which led to longer hours of electricity outage. 

STELCO said that the outage was caused by damage to one of four main cables, likely incurred during road-digging for other work. 

By 11:30pm last night, STELCO had resolved the issue and restored electricity services in all the apartment towers in Hulhumale' Phase 2.  However, some customers in the beach area continued to face power outages. 

At the time, STELCO said that they working on laying a temporary cable to restore electricity services in that area as well. 

STELCO apologized for any inconvenience caused by the power cut. 

Yesterday's power cut affected Hiyaa Towers, as well as Vinares Towers.
