Abdul Matheen has today resigned from the post of Managing Director at Male' Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC). 

Matheen announced his resignation on social media a short while ago. 

Matheen holds a Masters in Building Service Engineering. He served as a State Minister at the Environment Ministry during the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen. 

Heads of several State Owned Enterprises have either resigned or been dismissed since the ruling People's National Congress faced a significant loss in the April 4 elections. 

MIFCO Managing Director Faruhath Shaheer also resigned earlier today.
