Malé Water & Sewerage Company (MWSC)'s Deputy Managing Director Ibrahim Shahid has also been dismissed from his post tonight. 

Deputy Managing Directors of state owned enterprises and hired and dismissed through the relevant company's board approval. 

MWSC had a board meeting tonight, where a decision was made to dismiss Shahid from the post, a source confirmed to Mihaaru News. However, the reasons behind the dismissal were not disclosed. 

Following the poor results received by the government in last Saturday's Local Council elections, Women's Development Committee and the referendum to see the public's view on holding Presidential and Parliamentary elections on the same day, the government has dismissed the MDs of various state owned enterprises on Monday.   

MDs dismissed today include Fenaka Corporation's Mohamed Najah and Agro National Corporation's (Agronet) Hussain Didi. Meanwhile, MPL Managing Director Mohamed Rishwan resigned from the post on the same day, reportedly on the instruction of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu. 

Shahid is the only Deputy Managing Director to have been dismissed.
