Male' Taxi, the taxi line service introduced by the government for the Malé area was officially launched tonight.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu inaugurated the "Malé Taxi" service, operated through MTCC, at a ceremony currently underway at Hulhumalé Central Park.

At the ceremony, MTCC CEO Ahmed Saudhee stated that the service, launched with 150 cars, will bring a revolutionary change to the transport system.

Along with that, Saudhee said it would be something that the people accept, trust, and find joy in.

He stated that with the taxi line, the greatest solution will be provided for the issue of not being able to find taxis for trips within Malé.

MTCC said the taxi line will charge the official rates set by the Ministry of Transport for those trips.

The decision has been made to provide the government taxi line service through a digital booking system. The company also stated that arrangements have been made for online payments.

Upon requesting a car from the taxi line, the car nearest to that person will be assigned.
