President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu officially opened the Skate Arena developed in the Usfasgandu area of Malé today.
Sports Minister Abdulla Rafiu joined the President at the ceremony held to open this arena, which was specifically built for skating sports that are becoming popular among the youth.
This skate park is an arena built at the expense of Rasheed Carpentry and Construction (RCC) under their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at the request of the government. Senior officials of the company also participated in today's ceremony.
The physical work and foundation stone for this arena were initiated in October last year by President Muizzu, Minister Rafiu, and the Deputy Managing Director of RCC, Adam Raheem.
The Skate Association stated that this arena will open the opportunity for skaters living in Malé to hold practices with safe and international-standard facilities.
