Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has denied allegations that parking slots in Hulhumale' were allocated in breach of regulations.

In a statement, the company said it is working to find a long-term solution to the island’s parking challenges, including plans to introduce pocket parking in various areas of Hulhumale'.

HDC said there had been strong public interest following the announcement, with a large number of applications received. A list of eligible applicants has since been published.

The corporation expressed concern over what it described as the spread of false information at a time when efforts are being made to allocate parking spaces transparently.

HDC said it strongly condemned the circulation of claims that could damage its credibility, adding that cases involving the dissemination of false information would be reported to the relevant authorities.

It also urged the public to refrain from sharing unverified claims related to services affecting residents.
