Ministry of Housing Maldives has opened applications for the “Binveriyaa” special scheme under the current administration’s housing project.

According to an announcement, applications can be submitted via the online portal from today until 11:59 pm on April 30.

The “Binveriyaa” special scheme allows recipients of land from joint applications under the previous government’s Binveriyaa program to receive land separately, provided they agree to forgo the land obtained through the earlier joint application.

Individuals who previously had a flat under the former scheme but could not apply for Binveriyaa are also eligible to apply under the new program.

The housing initiative was announced by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu during his Presidential Address in February for the opening of Parliament.

Alongside the “Binveriyaa” special scheme, the President has also introduced the “Goathi-Gedhoru” program, aimed at resolving the issue of spouses being unable to apply for flat and land programs launched by the government in January.

Applications for the Goathi-Gedhoru program were opened on March 8.
