Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH) has opened applications for medical internships today. 

In an announcement issued today, AEH said that applications for medical internships can be submitted until May 25. 

This time, the hospital is offering 15 internship slots. 

As per the Maldives Medical Council regulations, doctors are given license to practise after 5 to 6 years of studies, followed by a one-year internship. 

Those who hold MBBS certificates from a medical college or university, or a certificate of provisional medical registration from Maldives Medical and Dental Council are eligible to apply for the internship. They must also have no police record over the past five years.

Along with the application form, MBBS certificate, police clearance certificate and other necessary documents must be submitted, the hospital said. 

With high demand for internships at IGMH, Health Ministry requested ADK Hospital to offer internships. Both programs are now being conducted.
