Divers have discovered a human hand on the seabed in the area where the speedboat accident occurred on March 17.

The accident occurred near V. Felidhoo, involving a luxury powerboat owned by Indian billionaire Raymond Group Chairman Gautam Singhania. One person involved in the accident reportedly lost an arm. He was transferred back home to India on March 21 for further treatment.

The hand was discovered by a group of divers today, at the V. Dhiggiri shark point. They have now reported the matter to police.

Police are now travelling to the area, according to reports.

A video obtained by Mihaaru News shows that the discovered arm had been severed just above the elbow. Much of the arm has decomposed to bones, leaving the hand alone intact.

The area where the hand has been discovered is about 10km away from where the accident occurred.

Police said that they have received reports that divers at the Fulidhoo shark point have discovered what is believed to be a human organ. They said that the matter is under investigation.

According to previous Police statements, there were seven individuals on board the vessel when it met with the accident while travelling two nautical miles southwest of V. Keyodhoo. These were five Indian men, and two women from UK and Russia.

The powerboat was travelling at 100mph when it lost control, throwing five people overboard. Of these, two Indian men remain missing, and authorities are continuing the search.

All those involved in the accident suffered varying degrees of injuries, according to Police. They were first taken to Vaavu Atoll Hospital for immediate medical attention. Two were later transferred to Tree Top Hospital.

Gautam Singhania and one woman immediately left to India for treatment.

One of the two reported missing in the accident is India's renowned motorsports personality Hari Singh. Some Indian media have reported that the second missing man is the Captain of Singhania's yacht, Mahesh Ramachandran.
