Marvin Vargas, a nurse at IGMH, is charged with intentional homicide in the killing of Philippine nurse Mary Grace in October, 2021. Haleemath Lamha, a local nurse who is accused of having an affair with Marvin, is charged with involvement in the murder. The Criminal Court is set to rule on the cases next month.

The trial started at the Criminal Court in 2022, and hearings were concluded last week. It has been reported that the verdict will be announced on April 12.

Marvin and Lamha are being held in custody until the end of trial. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs informed the court in February that while incarcerated, Marvin has converted to Islam, with his name subsequently changed to 'Yoosuf'.

Lamha was earlier released, but the court later ordered that she be held in custody once again until the end of trial.
