President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has said the government’s key objective is to develop the police service into an institution that produces capable and valuable public servants for the country.

In a message marking the 93rd anniversary of the Maldives Police Service, the president said strengthening the institution to nurture disciplined and effective officers remains a central priority.

Describing police as the country’s “Blue Army”, he commended officers for their service and dedication, and extended appreciation to both serving personnel and their families for their contributions since the establishment of the service.

He added that the government is also focused on ensuring the police remain responsible and capable of maintaining security and public confidence among both Maldivians and foreigners.
