Police have said Assistant Commissioner of Police Hussain Rasheed has never been investigated or subject to disciplinary action.
In a statement shared with the press last night, police said reports circulating in some media outlets that Hussain Rasheed had been investigated around 10 years ago were inaccurate.
Records clearly show that Hussain Rasheed was neither investigated by the Professional Standards Command nor questioned in any case, and no action of any kind has ever been taken against him, the statement said.
Hussain Rasheed was appointed this week as head of the Professional Standards Command. Police said the appointment was made in accordance with established regulations.
