Taxis can now be hailed directly outside the domestic terminal at Velana International Airport, following changes aimed at improving passenger convenience.
In a statement, Maldives Airports Company Ltd (MACL) said passengers using Terminal 2, which is the current domestic terminal can get on and off taxis from 10 am onwards.
Under the new arrangement, the area in front of the Terminal 2 arrivals and the nearby roundabout has been designated for passenger drop-offs, with space for up to five taxis at a time.

A separate area between the roundabout and the departures section of Terminal 2 has been allocated for pick-ups, with capacity for five taxis.
MACL said staff will be stationed in the area to guide passengers and manage traffic flow.
The move comes after complaints from domestic passengers who previously had to walk to the taxi queue at Terminal 1 to find transport.
Domestic operations were shifted to Terminal 2 last month after the former domestic terminal was closed. Since then, passengers had relied on taxi services based at Terminal 1.
Terminal 1, now used for international flights was opened on 26 July last year, with all international airline operations relocated there by the end of 2025.
