Police have revealed the identities of the two individuals involved in smuggling 11kg of drugs into the country.
The two individuals are both from India: Yutish Raj Rajan, 27, and Eashwarmurti Shanmugam, 24.
Police said the two individuals were arrested on Friday upon their arrival in Maldives, and the drugs in their possession were seized.
The two were transferred to Police custody by Maldives Customs Service.
Customs said that they seized 5,370g of cannabis and 6,590g of hash oil at the Velana International Airport.
The estimated street price of the seized drugs cross MVR 9.6 million, according to Customs.
