MTCC has announced that walk-in interviews are to be held again tomorrow seeking drivers for the government's Male' Taxi Line.

MTCC has held walk-in interviews for the positions previously as well. The company announced then that they were seeking 407 taxi drivers, of which 122 are expected to work part-time.

In a social media post yesterday, MTCC announced that the interviews will be held at the Maafannu Bus Terminal from 10am to 4pm tomorrow.

The government previously expected to launch the new Male' Taxi Line in time for eid holidays this year, in a bit to address taxi availability challenges in the capital.

In a press conference held earlier this month at the President's Office, Transport Minister Mohamed Ameen stated that the government was working to launch the taxi line by the end of Ramadan. However, the service has not commenced yet.

Ameen said then that three models of cars are being brought to Maldives in two batches for the taxi line service. The first batch of 60 cars is to be brought from Thailand. The remaining two models will be brought from China, he said.

The Minister said then that the government's target was to inaugurate the service with a limited number of vehicles by March 18.
