Police have launched an investigation into the death of a nine day old baby in Haa Alifu Utheemu.
According to police, the infant had already died when brought to the island’s health centre on Wednesday morning.
The case was reported to the police by the Utheemu Health Centre.
Police have not released further details as the investigation is still underway.
