The period granted for signing the final voters' list has been extended following the suspension of the process due to the fire incident that occurred last night in the building adjacent to the Election Center.
Following the fire at the chemical warehouse next to the Elections Commission's main center (the former Drug Court), the area was evacuated and temporary shelter has been arranged for many residing in the area.
Consequently, the operations of the Election Center were temporarily moved to the Social Centre, and the work of political parties and candidates signing the voters' list commenced today at 10:00 AM.
The EC stated today that, in order to provide a further opportunity for signing the voters' list, the signing process is scheduled to continue on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
The EC also mentioned that even though an additional day was added to this work, the process of signing this registry will continue at the Social Centre as before, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM today, and from 9:30 PM to 12:00 AM.
The EC has given its assurance that no election-related matters have been disrupted due to the fire incident that occurred in the area where the Election Center is located.
