As the joy of this Eid al-Fitr meets the Islamic Ummah, the Islamic ummah is in a state of great unrest; however, as this happiness arrives, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu stated today that he wishes for empowerment, dignity, and prestige for Muslims.
He made these wishes in his address delivered on the occasion of this year's Eid al-Fitr, which is celebrated tomorrow.
The President stated that many Muslim brothers and sisters in Palestine, and generally in other lands of the Middle East, are in a state of great heartbreak.
"Since the example of the believers is like that of a single body, we participate in all this pain. In this situation, what is desired is peace and safety for those beloved brothers and sisters as quickly as possible. Empowerment, dignity, and prestige for Muslims," the President said in his address.
He noted that the period of the Six Fasts of Shawwal follows the month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, which signifies the perfection of the system of Islam that calls for remaining steadfast in good deeds.
"When Ramadan ends, the days of worship and devotion do not end. The invitation to start anew and move forward is provided by the Six Fasts."
President Muizzu stated that this Ramadan left us after providing important training to our souls and limbs, and that it is the training to not utter anything from our tongues except good words. He further said it is the training to perform only good deeds with our limbs and to encourage Muslims to remain as one large congregation in unity, rather than being a divided and dismantled people.
"It is to be patient in every sense, at all times. These lessons were provided by the school of Ramadan," the President said.
The President stated that since there is no deviating from the standards of Islam in any matter within the religion, the celebration of Eid joy is also aligned with that.
"Therefore, to put it briefly, the joy of Eid is to praise Allah. To be grateful for the blessings He has bestowed. For Muslims to be kind-hearted towards one another."President Muizzu
Therefore, he said it is important to be mindful of Islamic boundaries and standards when organizing and planning activities for the joy of Eid.
"For Islam always encourages goodness. Towards the noble qualities that bring happiness in both worlds," he said.
According to the President, Eid teaches us to be happy and to celebrate. However, the President said that it is the joy of having fulfilled the obligation of fasting that Allah prescribed for us.
"It is the joy of having spent the nights and days of Ramadan in the recitation of the Holy Quran, in Dhikr, and in seeking forgiveness. It is the joy of being generous toward those among us who are enduring various hardships," President Muizzu said.
"Therefore, to put it briefly, the joy of Eid is to praise Allah. To be grateful for the blessings He has bestowed. For Muslims to be kind-hearted towards one another. It is to find peace of mind individually and collectively, and to nurture faith and love within the society."
