A Maldivian Umrah pilgrim passed away last night in Makkah.
Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed stated that Ali Ibrahim Didi of GDh. Nadellaa, who had travelled for Umrah pilgrimage under Hijaaz Hajj and Umrah passed away last night.
Funeral prayers for Ali Ibrahim Didi were held at Masjid al-Haram under Fajr prayers today.
A Nadellaa council member said that Ali Ibrahim Didi, in his seventies, had travelled for Umrah pilgrimage with his eldest son and some other members of his family.
They said that this had been Ali Ibrahim Didi's first Umrah pilgrimage.
"He had no known health complications. He was doing very well. He was found unconscious in his room last night," the council member said.
Ali Ibrahim Didi is survived by his wife and eight children.
