The Road Development Corporation (RDC) put out 150 employment opportunities yesterday in order to begin projects across various islands.
Interested parties are to submit their forms to jobs@rdc.com.mv by Tuesday, 4:00pm. The 150 jobs covers six islands:
- HA. Uligan
- AA. Rasdhoo
- Lh. Naifaru
- K. Kaashidhoo
- Lh. Hinnavaru
- Th. Madifushi
RDC's Managing Director Ibrahim Nazeem stated that they will be hiring 150 employees based on the projects.
"We prioritize hiring Maldivians before we hire expatriate workers. If we are unable to employ the number of Maldivians that we are looking for, then we look to hire expatriate workers," said Nazeem.
According to Nazeem, the government has tasked RDC with repairing the roads of various islands, along with various other projects.
"Some islands even have five projects. Even if an employment announcement of 150 positions may seem bloated, this is the number of people we need for the projects," stated Nazeem.
Looking at the individual announcements, the highest number of employees needed are for Uligan and Rasdhoo, with each island requiring 50 employees.
Next is Kaashidhoo, with 24 employees, as stated by RDC.
Madifushi requires 13 employees, Naifaru requires 12 and Hinnavaru requires one.
