A man has gone missing at sea in Raa atoll Vaadhoo, police said.
Police said they received a report at around 9 pm on Thursday that a man who had gone out to sea from the island had not returned.
The missing person has been identified as Mohamed Iqbal, Windstar, Vaadhoo.
According to police, Iqbal left for the trip alone in a small dinghy early Thursday morning. He did not have a mobile phone with him when he left, police said.
Following the report, relevant authorities and other agencies have begun sharing information and conducting search efforts to locate him.
Police have asked anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact Raa atoll Alifushi Police Station at 9992245.
