MTCC to construct new building at Kulhudhuffushi Hospital

The new building is being constructed to support expanding the hospital's services to a tertiary level.

An agreement was signed with MTCC yesterday to construct a new building at the Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital. 

The new building is being constructed to support expanding the hospital's services to a tertiary level. 

The agreement was signed in a ceremony held at the Health Ministry yesterday by State Minister for Health Ismail Abdulla and MTCC Deputy Managing Director Ahmed Shareef Abdul Rahman Yoosuf. 

Under the first phase of the agreement, the hospital's operation theatre, CSSD and other services will be relocated, the ministry said. Work on the new building will only commence after this is done. 

The ministry did not disclose the project cost, or expected date of completion. 

Yesterday, the ministry also awarded Lycan Pvt Ltd a project to construct a new building for the AA. Bodufulhadhoo Health Centre.

This agreement was signed by State Minister for Health Ahmed Gasim and Lycan Pvt Ltd Managing Director Ahmed Aiman. 

Under this project, new premises will be constructed to house the health centre's office, public health unit, laboratory, meeting hall, laundry and storage, the ministry said.

The cost and expected date of completion for this project were also not disclosed.
