The Ministry of Tourism and Environment has once again announced that it is seeking those interested in doing branding for their 'Visit Maldives Year 2027' initiative.

The 'Visit Maldives Year 2027' initiative was announced during this year's Presidential Address by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu. The ministry has issued an announcement even earlier, on February 10, seeking a branding company.

The ministry said that interested parties should submit Terms of Reference, information sheet and other documents required under the bid book to demonstrate competence.

The information session on the project is scheduled for 11am on March 24, at the ministry. Bid submission is at 10am on April 5. Bid will be opened on the same day at 10:05am.

Any bids submitted after the deadline will be returned, the ministry said.

When submitting, the bids must be in a sealed envelope, with the bid name, bid opening date and time, and the details of the bidder including name, email address and contact number clearly written on the front.

If further information is required, interested parties are urged to reach out to the ministry via email.

The President announced that 2027 will be marked as the year of tourism, with it coinciding with the 55th anniversary of the tourism industry being introduced in the Maldives.

As per the ministry, Visit Maldives Year 2027 will be marked highlighting Maldives' culture and traditions, local cuisine and historical figures.

The government aims to reach 2.5 million tourist arrivals by the end of 2026.

Last year, Maldives welcomed 2.2 million tourists. A record tourism revenue was also recorded last year, reaching USD 5.5 billion.
