The diving boat moored outside the Feydhoo harbour that caught fire has sunk.
The MNDF stated tonight that the Southern Area Fire Station dispatched firefighters once they received the report of the blaze on the Maina Safari diving boat in the afternoon.
MNDF said that the vessel sank into the depths during their efforts to quell the fire.
MNDF went on to say that an individual suffered burns on their leg, with them being treated at Feydhoo's health center and has been discharged.
MNDF also said that those on the diving boat boarded a safari that was close by when the boat caught fire.
Citing speculation on the island, a Feydhoo council member earlier told Mihaaru News that the fire spread even further after a gas canister exploded. The boat has been burned beyond use.
