A raging fire broke out in a diving boat moored outside the Feydhoo harbour, destroying it beyond use.
MNDF said that their Southern Area Fire Station responded to the incident. They did not disclose any further details as of yet.
A Feydhoo Council member told Mihaaru News that the fire had occurred on the diving boat of Maina Safari. They said that there have been no reports of injuries in the incident.
The council said that according to speculation on the island, the fire grew stronger after the initial flames were fed by an exploding gas cylinder.
MNDF are still working on controlling the fire. The boat is already burned beyond use.
