The national airline, Maldivian, has signed an MOU that allows its passengers to receive discounts when consulting at Ananthapuri Hospitals and Research Institute in Trivandrum, India.
Trivandrum is already a location where a large number of Maldivians travel for medical treatment. The Ananthapuri Hospital, with which Maldivian established the agreement, is a multi-specialty hospital.
In a statement released by Maldivian, it said the purpose of this MOU is to facilitate easy access to healthcare assistance and to ensure additional benefits for Maldivian passengers in seeking medical aid.
Maldivian stated that India is the most popular destination for Maldivians seeking specialized medical treatment and that Trivandrum is a regional health hub with modern medical facilities where many Maldivians go for treatment.
Therefore, the airline mentioned that passengers traveling to Trivandrum on Maldivian will receive benefits due to this MOU.
Under the MOU signed with Ananthapuri Hospital, discounts will be available to both outpatients and inpatients who go there for treatment. Maldivian stated that a 15 percent discount will be available on health checkup packages and a 10 percent discount will be available on outpatient laboratory and radiology services.
Additionally, it said that free ambulance travel will be provided from Trivandrum International Airport to the hospital.
To provide further assistance to those traveling for medical treatment, a customer care desk will be established at the hospital to provide assistance with making appointments, medical coordination, and patient support. It was mentioned that under special assistance services, translation services will also be provided for patients in serious condition and the elderly.
The benefits of this MOU will be available to all passengers traveling to Trivandrum on Maldivian. Maldivian also stated that further information regarding this service can be obtained through Maldivian or Ananthapuri Hospital.
