A Maldivian individual who was arrested in Thailand in a drug-related case has died in a prison in that country.
Police stated that they received information today regarding the death of Ibrahim Nabeeh Naseem, 22, of Fanaru, Th. Guraidhoo.
They noted that the necessary matters concerning this incident are being looked into in coordination with the relevant authorities.
The police have not yet disclosed any specific details regarding his death. According to the police, Nabeeh was arrested on February 22 of last month at Don Mueang International Airport in Thailand after drugs were found in his possession.
He had remained in the country’s custody from the time of his arrest until now.
