A new parking zone, with the capacity to park 224 motorcycles, has been opened at the old Huravee Building site today. 

The zone is designated for motorcycle parking alone. 

The Huravee Building, built over 35 years ago, was in a dilapidated state, leading to its demolition in June 2022. At the time, the government announced that a parking area will be developed at the location, but it remained pending until today. 

The stretch between Huravee Building and the Friday Mosque also accommodates 226 motorcycles. However, due to the area housing several government offices, there has been persistent complaints of lack of sufficient parking space for staff and visitors from the public. 

The new parking zone is adjacent to the existing plot, expanding the available parking area.

Recently, another parking zone, for both cars and motorcycles, near Hotel Jen was shut down in order to construct the new Majeedhiya School building.
