The Criminal Court has remanded a man in custody for 15 days for eating in public on a street in Male' during the day in Ramadan.

As per the court order, the man remanded is a 26 year old Maldivian.

The man is to be held at the custodial detention centre until March 13.

The court order said that sufficient evidence supporting the charge was submitted, along with statements from attending Police officers and the accused.
