President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has issued presidential decrees amending the administrative jurisdictions of Addu City, Addu Hulhudhoo and Addu Meedhoo.
The amendments have been brought after the October 25, 2025 public referendum held in Addu on the separation of jurisdictions in Addu City.
In accordance with the results of the referendum, the jurisdiction of Addu City has been redefined, with Hulhudhoo and Meedhoo now removed from under its oversight and designated as separate inhabited islands.
Addu City's jurisdiction now includes Hithadhoo, Maradhoo, MaradhooFeydhoo, Feydhoo and the uninhabited island, Savaaheli.
Meedhoo also has an uninhabited island within its jurisdiction.
