The condition of the WAMCO staff who got injured in an incident on the work site last Sunday has improved significantly, with the hospital able to remove him from ventilator support last night.

WAMCO Managing Director Mujuthaba Jaleel told Mihaaru News that the Maldivian member of staff was taken off ventilator support early today, and is now being treated in the Surgical HDU.

The official said that the man's condition is steadily improving.

"He is under observation for another two days. But his condition is not considered serious," the MD said.

Sunday's incident was reported to Police, who have now launched an investigation.

A social media user shared a photo of a man who appeared to have fallen into a container, claiming it was the driver who had slipped off the ramp from a height of 12 to 13 feet. The post also claimed that the man had suffered three broken ribs in the incident.
