National Disability Registry sees increase of 177 in a month

As per information released by the National Social Protection Agency (NSPA), at the end of the previous month, there were 15,236 people who were registered.

The National Disability Registry has seen more than 170 registrations within a month.

As per information released by the National Social Protection Agency (NSPA), there are 15,059 persons with disabilities on the registry. However, the information that was shared today showed an increase of 177 new registries.

The agency said that at the end of the previous month, there were 15,236 people who were registered.

Changes over two months sees psychological disability with the biggest change.

There were 2,116 people with psychological disabilities by the end of December, with that number having risen to 2,173 last month.

The second highest is people with physical disabilities, with the registry having 4,223 people in December. It had increased to 4,272 last month.

The third highest is those with multiple disabilities. 

There were 3,396 people with multiple disabilities in December, with it having increased to 3,441 last month, an addition of 45 people.

As per NSPA's information, the registry shows that those aged between 18 to 64 are the highest on the registry. There are 3,929 men and 3,724 women, totaling 7,653 people.

The second highest age group are those below 18 years old. There are a total of 5,099 people, with 3,560 boys and 1,539 girls.

Last month's details show that there are 7,697 who are those aged between 18 to 64, with 5,160 children below 18 years old.
