The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Maldives, Yahya Hassan Al-Qahtani stated last night that the close relationship between Maldives and Saudi Arabia has been strengthened even more.

At the ceremony held at the Saudi Arabian Embassy to celebrate the Founding Day of their nation, the ambassador said that they constantly prioritize not interfering with the internal affairs of other countries, maintain relations as equals and the implementation of a developmental foreign policy.

Carrying on the principles of Islam, establishing stability and Saudi Arabia continuing to responsibly serve the world of Islam was assured by the ambassador.

The ambassador highlighted Saudi Arabia's pivotal roles in the world's energy industry and sustainable development as a nation with one of the strongest economies.

The ambassador also stated that within Saudi Arabia's vision for 2030, it is their priority to diversify the economy, establish innovative thinking and strong international relations, and empower their citizens.

As per the ambassador, this important day in Saudi Arabia's history being celebrated in Maldives further strengthens the relationship between the two nations.

"Our relationship with Maldives is of utmost importance to us. I give my assurance that Saudi Arabia will continue the expansion of this relationship within additional sectors, for the benefit of both countries," said the ambassador.

Saudi Arabia's Founding Day is celebrated on February 22 annually to mark the establishment of the first Saudi State in 1727.

Chief Justice Abdul Ghanee Mohamed attended the ceremony last night as the honorable guest.
