An eyewear shop has been opened at Haa Dhaalu Atoll Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital.
The outlet was inaugurated by Health Minister Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim at a ceremony held at the hospital on Tuesday.
The government officially entered the eyewear business in July last year.
Following the opening of the first outlet at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), additional locations have now been established at Hulhumale' Hospital, Addu Equatorial Hospital and Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital.
IGMH CEO Ibrahim Haleem said prescription glasses will be made available through Aasandha services in both northern and southern regions of the Maldives.
He described the initiative as an important step in the government’s efforts to bring healthcare services closer to the public.
