The collection of this year’s Fitr Zakat has officially begun, Zakat House announced.
Fitr Zakat payments can be made until 6:00 am on the 27th of Ramadan.
Zakat can be paid online through seven platforms:
- Dhiraagu Mobile App and DhiraaguPay website
- Ooredoo
- m-Faisaa Mobile App
- Maldives Islamic Bank Mobile App
- Bank of Maldives Mobile App
- FahiPay Mobile App
- Avas Mobile App
- BandeyriPay website
Through BandeyriPay and FahiPay, payments will be accepted until the final day of Ramadan.
Zakat can also be paid in person at the Islamic Centre in Male'. In other islands, payments will be made at the respective island council offices.
Payment hours in Male':
- 22 February to 9 March: 10:00am – 1:00pm (weekdays)
- 10 – 19 March: 11:00am – 2:00pm (weekdays)
Amounts payable for Fitr Zakat:
- Regular rice: MVR 12
- Thailand white rice: MVR 53
- Red rice: MVR 96
- Basmati rice (regular): MVR 77
- Basmati rice (premium): MVR 109
- Basmati flour (super premium): MVR 136
- Regular flour: MVR 10
- Aataa flour: MVR 75
