First Lady Sajidha Mohamed made the request last night that as Ramadan has begun, the campaigning for the upcoming Local Council and Women's Development Committee Elections be conducted without slander and mockery against each other.

She requested this at the pre-Ramadan meal (Maahefun) that was held at PNC's women's wing.

The First Lady stated that conducting oneself without mocking each other is also a form of worship. She also stated that respectfully speaking to people is also an important part of the Islamic faith.

"And so, let us make the decision, the determination where we are those who conduct ourselves properly, respect others and not mock others," said the First Lady.

As per the First Lady, this is how PNC should work to win the upcoming Local Council Election on 4th April.

First Lady Sajidha went on to say that all should be equal in this life and the next, and to make time to worship in the month of Ramadan and to work on the campaign as well.

As an example, the First Lady gestured to office employees who take their leave on the final 10 days of Ramadan.

"In that moment, I think that I am serving the citizens. And so, we should not be exempt from the responsibility of conducting our nightly worship duties," said the First Lady.

"The Islamic faith is quite a complete one. We need to do everything equally."
