Domestic flights at Velana International Airport (VIA) are to be shifted to the old international terminal, Terminal 2, from tomorrow onwards.

MACL has modified and renovated the VIA Terminal 2 to accommodate domestic flights.

MACL confirmed that effective tomorrow, all domestic flights will be operated out of Terminal 2. The terminal will be officially inaugurated by Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef in special ceremony tomorrow.

The new Terminal 1 at VIA was inaugurated on July 26 last year. By the end of 2025, operations of all international flights have been transferred to this new terminal.

Once domestic flights are transferred to Terminal 2, the Domestic Terminal currently in use will be shut down.

In Maldives, three airlines operate domestic flights: national carrier Maldivian, Manta Air and Villa Air.
