Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has, as of now, fined two individuals for dumping trash in common areas of the towers, with the total fines amounting to MVR 8000.

FDC Managing Director Hamdhan Shakeel told Mihaaru News that one individual was fined MVR 5000, and the other MVR 3000.

He warned that any individuals who are found to be dumping trash in common areas will face similar fines.

FDC stated in a press release yesterday that they have advised residents to dispose of waste as per set policies in order to main the general cleanliness of the towers.

They stated that those who fail to comply with the policy and dump trash in common areas will be fined under set guidelines.

Meanwhile, FDC is working alongside WAMCO to dispose of waste currently piled on the grounds and outside the towers.

In a social media post yesterday, FDC stated that as of then, they had removed a total of 460 tonnes of waste from the 13 Amaan Dhoadhi towers. This amounts to enough trash to fill 27 dump trucks, they pointed out.

FDC reiterated that large items of waste must be disposed of by the residents themselves, and that leaving such waste in the garbage rooms and common areas of the towers is prohibited.

The ground floor of Fahi Flats have large piles of trash discarded by residents moving in, including waste produced through interior work in their flats, empty boxes from moving kitchenware, TVs, furniture and other items. The piles of trash line corridors and other common areas of the towers.

As per the Fahi Flat agreements, FDC is only responsible for disposal of general household trash and perishable waste.
