Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has begun fining individuals who discard waste in various areas of the Fahi Flat towers.
In a press release issued today, FDC stated that they advise residents of the flats to fully adhere to the established waste disposal guidelines in order to maintain the cleanliness of the buildings and the living environment.
The statement noted that fines will be imposed under a set policy to take action against those who discard waste in violation of the regulations, and that the enforcement of these fines has already commenced.
FDC mentioned that some individuals who violated the regulations by discarding waste at the base and exterior of the towers have already been fined.
However, FDC's statement did not specify the amount of the fines or how many people have been fined so far.
FDC and the Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) are currently working together to remove the waste piled at the base and exterior of the Fahi Flats by those who received units.
In a social media post today, FDC stated that a total of 460 tons of waste has been removed so far from 13 towers constructed under the Aman Dhodhi project. The company said this is equivalent to approximately 27 dump truck loads of waste.
FDC also stated that the responsibility for disposing of large waste items from the flats must be borne by the residents themselves, and that leaving such waste in the garbage rooms and common areas of the towers is prohibited.
The ground areas of the towers had become heavily cluttered with materials brought by those moving into the Fahi Flats and waste generated from interior work.
Specifically, boxes for furniture, utensils, ACs, and TVs were piled up in corridors, doorways, and various spots. In some towers, large heaps of waste were even stacked near the lifts.
According to the Fahi Flat agreements, FDC will only dispose of common household waste and biodegradable items.
