Ministry of Tourism announced today that it is seeking parties to undertake the branding work for "Visit Maldives Year 2027," which was announced in President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s Presidential Address.
In its announcement, the Ministry stated that the opportunity to submit bids is now open for those interested in carrying out all branding activities for "Visit Maldives Year 2027," which will be celebrated next year.
The announcement noted that bids must be submitted to the Ministry's reception before 10:30 AM on the 23rd of this month, and the bid opening will take place at 10:35 AM on the same day at the Ministry’s office.
While the President has decided to mark next year as a year for tourism, it will also mark 55 years since the tourism industry began in the Maldives.
According to the Ministry of Tourism, "Visit Maldives Year 2027" will be celebrated by highlighting the Maldivian lifestyle, cuisine, and ancestral stories.
The unique characteristics of various Maldivian islands will also be shared and showcased to tourists.
The government's target is to bring 2.5 million tourists to the Maldives by the end of this year.
Last year, 2.2 million tourists visited the Maldives. Furthermore, with 5.5 billion dollars, the Maldives also received a record income from tourism last year.
